Installation of Visual Quality

Visual Quality Enterprise consists of three products: Visual Quality (Windows/Desktop application), Visual Quality Web Access (Web Application) and Visual Quality Alert Service (Windows Service)
The file Visual Quality Setup.exe installs Visual Quality as well as all the components needed to create and configure the web application, Visual Quality Web Access.

The file Visual Quality Alert Service.msi installs Alert Service and this will typically only be done on the server in a client/server setup.

Installation of Visual Quality

The installation program for Visual Quality can be downloaded from the web site. The download section also contains an installation program for upgrading an existing Visual Quality installation to the latest version. In a client/server setup the same installation program is used on the clients and on the server.
Below is shown how you install Visual Quality on a computer which does not already have the program installed.

Requirements

Visual Quality requires the following:

Windows NT, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 or 2012
Hardware: Absolute minimum: 512MB RAM, 1GHz CPU, 2GB free disk space

Installation

To download and install Visual Quality Alert Service you must register as a user on the web site.
After this you can download the latest version of Visual Quality Enterprise from the download section.

Visual Quality Enterprise supports the databases Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server. By default Visual Quality Enterprise uses Access and it is not needed to install Microsoft Office or Microsoft Access, since the Visual Quality installation program installs all the files needed to run on this database.

If you wish to use Microsoft SQL Server as database server for Visual Quality Enterprise you should install this product. Visual Quality Enterprise supports the following versions:

SQL Server 2005
SQL Server 2008
SQL Server 2008 R2
SQL Server 2012
SQL Server 2014

All versions can be downloaded from Microsoft's web site, www.microsoft.com.
