When I open a document (not the attached file) the program crashes. The same goes for any other object I try to open.

Please HELP!

Did something go wrong during the installation? Any errors or warnings?
What's the Operating System?

Okay, then it could be because som files are not registered properly.
Is it Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

Please try the following:

1. From the start menu open the Command Prompt as Administrator
2. Type cd c:\windows\syswow64 and press Enter
3. Type regsvr32 mscomct2.ocx and press Enter
4. Type regsvr32 MSCOMCTL.OCX and press Enter
5. Close the Command Prompt
6. Start VQE and check if this fixes the problem

Did you remember to run the Command Prompt as Administrator?

Okay, then open the command prompt once more.

cd c:\windows\syswow64 and press Enter
type regsvr32 richtx32.ocx and press Enter.

YES! That did it. Now it works. But a bit worrying that the installer didn't report back that these files were not installed properly :-(

Yes, you are right. We have reported this as a bug and it will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks for your patience
